The service

App Icon provides free, browser-based tools that turn an image you supply into app icon sets for iOS and Android and favicon packages for websites, together with written guides about icon specifications. The tools are free to use, with no account required.

Your artwork and your icons

Your images are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to us (see the privacy policy). You keep all rights to the artwork you use and to the icons the tools generate from it. You may use the generated files for any purpose, including commercial apps and websites, without attribution.

You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use the artwork you put into the tools, and that your icons do not infringe anyone else's trademarks or copyrights.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
Do not use automated means to scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others.
Do not use the site for anything unlawful.

Accuracy of guides

Our guidelines and FAQs reflect Apple, Google and browser requirements as we understand them at the time of writing. Platform rules change, so check the official Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Android documentation before submitting an app for review.

Trademarks

Apple, iOS, iPhone, iPad, Xcode and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Android, Google Play and Android Studio are trademarks of Google LLC. App Icon is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple or Google.

No warranty

The site and the generated files are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the output correct, but we do not guarantee that the tools will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that generated files will be accepted by any app store.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, App Icon is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or the generated files.

Third-party services and ads

The site shows advertising from Google AdSense and links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those third parties.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
