Hi there.
One image in, every icon size out.
App Icon is a set of free tools for developers and designers who need icons in all the sizes Apple, Google and browsers ask for, without opening a design tool or uploading their artwork to someone else's server.
Shipping an app or a website means producing the same icon dozens of times: Xcode wants an AppIcon.appiconset with a matching Contents.json, Android wants five mipmap densities plus adaptive foreground and background layers, Google Play wants a 512×512 store icon, and browsers want an ICO, several PNGs, an Apple touch icon and a web manifest. Getting one size or one JSON field wrong can mean a blurry home screen icon or a rejected build. App Icon turns that chore into a single upload.
favicon.ico, PNG favicons, an Apple touch icon, PWA install icons, a site.webmanifest and the HTML snippet to paste into your page.Everything happens in your browser. When you drop in an image, the page draws it onto an HTML canvas at each required size, applies the platform masks for the live preview, encodes the PNG and ICO files, and zips them on your device. No image is sent to a server, so the tools work for unreleased products and client work, and they keep working on a slow connection once the page has loaded. You can read the details in our privacy policy.
The generators have no sign-up, watermark or download limit. The site is supported by a small number of ads, which pay for hosting and ongoing work. Ads sit in the settings sidebar, apart from the preview and the download button.
App Icon is built and maintained by an independent mobile and web developer who got tired of resizing icons by hand. The guides are written from hands-on experience shipping apps and checked against Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, the Android developer documentation and current browser behaviour. When a platform changes its requirements, the generators and guides are updated to match.
